I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I have extensive experience working in acute psychiatric settings, crisis intervention, counseling persons with Substance Use, and co-occurring disorders. Experience in Psycho-spiritual counseling, focused on spirituality and optimizing emotional and psychological health by implementing CBT and spirituality.
My philosophy is based on an understanding and implementing therapeutic approaches in self and ego psychology, attachment therapy, DBT, and brief therapy. I believe that all people are seeking a sense of "wholeness" a connectedness with themselves/others and their experiences to find meaning, validation, purpose and value to experience joy and fulfillment.
I have experience working with the criminal justice system, adolescents, adults, families, couples and older adults; and experience working as a sociology/ adjunct faculty at Benedictine university.
