
Deborah Brunick, LCSW
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years experience in the hospital and school settings. I have a BA in Social Work from the University of St.Francis in Joliet. My MSW is from the University of Illinois -Jane Adams School of Social Work in Chicago. I have my State of Illinois certification and 20 plus years experience in school social work.
As a school social worker, I have worked with children and parents in a number of areas including special needs, anxiety, depression, social skills, and social emotional identification and regulation. I use the Social Thinking program and curriculum.
In addition, I have experience with the impacts of a chronic or unexpected illness on self and family including the need for support with grief, loss, frustration, and acceptance. I have a special interest in working with the geriatric population and am skills in assisting clients and family in working with stressors that impact our older adults. I am active in a support group for caregivers.
As a long-time resident of this area, I am familiar with community resources and supports in the areas of autism, addiction, mental health, and crisis intervention.
