Katherine Richter, LCSW
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 5 years of experience in various residential, outpatient, and hospice settings. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and a Masters degree in Social Work, specializing in Mental Health from Loyola University Chicago.
My goal as a therapist is ultimately to help the client address their symptoms and instill hope. I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with various diagnoses.
I specialize in treating mood disorders such as anxiety, PTSD, depression, and bipolar disorder, as well self-harming behaviors, eating disorders, stress management, grief and loss, and postpartum issues.
My approach to therapy is to use a holistic, client centered approach, utilizing elements from CBT, DBT, and mindfulness-based stress reduction to help the client develop practical and useful coping skills to help them achieve optimal functioning.
